Sequim, WA Nr. 2 – Another long weekend, another trip to Sequim

Another weekend trip to Sequim. Love having little trips over long weekends. Just something I can look forward to and reward myself.

This time, we planned to do a hike, on Mount Storm King, above Lake Crescent, part of the Olympic National Park. Worth the drive and hike?

Absolutely. Alone the drive to the parking area is incredible beautiful. The hike is about 1.7 miles from the fork in the Marymere falls and goes up to about 2100ft, 1200ft gain per mile. It all starts at the Lake Crescent Area and went near Marymere Falls. At the beginning the trail is pretty well-maintained but shortly after the ground became very slippery due to stones and stand. There are knotted ropes, which help to climb due to the lack of solid footing. To be honest, I was pretty scared about the height, steep slopes to my right and left side. I did not even know I have a fear of heights, till this day! haha. BUT the view on top of the mountain is fantastic. So pretty. You also can see Vancouver Island. I was pretty proud of myself that I could keep up with the boys 🙂 It was definitely a great leg and butt workout! Wish I would be as consequent in the gym too.

The next two days we all were kind of sore (haha, what a surprise) and just relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful sunny weather. We went to a winery, did some wine tasting and had brunch in a popular local restaurant, called the Oak Table Cafe. OMG, you guys have to try their Apple Pancake. Know I know why they are famous for this pancake. It is SO DELICIOUS. We shared it between us four and hardly could finish it, because its huge! It is filled with fresh apples, and covered with a cinnamon glaze. Sugar-overdose for sure, but oh well, I love treats 🙂 Already looking forward to come back to Sequim 🙂 Let me know if someone already has been there or will go. Always looking for new ideas and adventurous. Julia ♥
