KYIV, Ukraine

Kyiv or Kiev – the capital and the biggest city of Ukraine is also known as the ‘City of Domes’ . You will notice right away the gold-coloured charm in the city.

Kyiv, Ukraine

As you guys know, my favorite way to to explore a city is by foot , so that’s exactly what I did on my first day. Kyiv, offers plenty of free walking tours and we joined one in the morning, since it was mid July and super hot! Tour guides show you the best spots and highlights in such a short amount of time and if you are more interested, just go back later by yourself 🙂

My highlight of the city was the church complex, also called the “Kiev Pechersk Lavra“. Beautiful monasteries, caves, which you can walk down & gardens. 🙂 Absolutely worth you spend there half or even a full day.

We also went again to a secret bar in the old town. Just google “secret bar in Kyiv” and follow the instructions. Pretty cool & the lunch was absolutely delicious.

FOOD

Ukraine is known for its dumplings, or perogies, and borscht soup. I absolutely love hot soups & stews. Definitely a MUST-TRY when you are in Ukraine.
