Brașov, Romania

Absolutely beautiful town and the perfect historic base if you want to explore Transylvania. People usually tend to visit the big capital cities with all the big tourist attractions. Me too, since I want to see them as well. 🙂 But just have some extra days to explore the outside and countryside. You will be amazed how beautiful or often even more beautiful these “untouched” towns are. The people there were always so friendly and welcoming 🙂

We stayed in an Airbnb in walking distance to the city centre. Brasov is a tiny town and you can see easily everything in 1 day or 1.5 days.   We got a tourist map in the tourist office and just planned our own tour. This long main pedestrian street is filled with cute boutiques and restaurants, all creating a cosy atmosphere.  For the evening, we took the Tampa cable car up to the top of the Tampa mountain. You will have absolut amazing views from the Hollywood style Brasov sign. There are also a few short trails up there. But make sure you check the opening hours, since I remember the last gondola down is quite “early”.
