Let’s be honest, who does not love a big bowl full with yummy, colorful fruits? Healthy, simple ingredients and just makes you feel good? I could eat them 24/7, because there are just so many variations of it! They never get old! But it’s easy to turn this healthy breakfast or snack into a loaded bowl of sugar if you’re not careful. I just wanted to share with you guys how I make my bowls larger and more filling and also to hear how you like your bowls! π
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 1/3 cup oats (rolled or quick oats)
- double amount of water (or half water, halb unsweetend almond milk/coconut milk)
- 2-3 carrots or 1 zucchini
- Soya Yoghurt
- Fresh or frozen fruits
- cinnamon
- lemon squeeze
- Toppings: Feel free π >> Nuts, fresh fruits, dried fruits, Peanutbutter, nut butter,… anything you like π
I usually start with heating up my oats with water (and/or almond/coconut milk) on the oven very slowly! It will not stick to the pan after. Wash and cut the zucchini or carrots and shred them in a blender. Add them to the oats in the oven and heat it up together. Spice it up with a bit of cinnamon and a squeeze of fresh lemon. PS: Here I like to add frozen berries or fruits and just let them melt for a few seconds. The mixture of hot and cold in your bowl makes it super yummy and interesting! π
Carrots or zucchinis are a great source of vitamins and to add more volume to your bowl without adding high “calories” or carbs. They are pretty neutral in flavor and absorb in my option the flavor of the oats, cinnamon and lemon.
Now the fun part begins and be creative! Top up your bowl with anything you like! Here are some more bowls I made the past weeks.
Keeping it simple, quick, easy and healthy! π Would love to hear how you make your bowls and how you like them! I awalys loved to try out new things and to experiment with food! So don’t hesitate to let me know! π
